What is the Orcas Island Foundation (OIF)

The Orcas Island Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that oversees Indralaya. The objects of the organization (as stated in the articles of incorporation) are: “To found, organize, establish, maintain and conduct schools of philosophy, science, religion and theosophy; to teach the principle of universal brotherhood; to encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science, and to investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in man.”

How to be a member of the Orcas Island Foundation

The Orcas Island Membership organization, “Friends of Indralaya,” is open to any person who declares themselves to be in sympathy with the objects of the Foundation.

There are three membership categories:

  • Voting Members: Friends of Indralaya members who are also members in good standing of the Theosophical Society (or who were OIF Associate members prior to December 31, 1970)
  • Non-Voting Members (Friends of Indralaya who are not also TS members)
  • Life Members

Friends of Indralaya Dues are:

  • Annual Membership $60
  • Family Membership $120
  • Lifetime Membership $600

Friends of Indralaya Benefits are:

  • Participation in the annual Friends of Indralaya meeting where updates, key policies, and issues are discussed.
  • Discounted fees for Indralaya programs (5% for Friends of Indralaya, additional 5% for TS members)
  • Ability to schedule a personal retreat at Indralaya or day use of the property (at the discretion of the management team).
  • Friends of Indralaya who are also TS members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.
