Leonie Van Gelder and Minor Lile
Leonie and Minor have led many silent meditation programs at Indralaya. They were the resident managers at Indralaya for nearly 20 years and continue to live on Orcas Island with their dog Jaxon.
Minor has presented programs on the perennial wisdom tradition in various settings. He is active on boards and in volunteer activities on Orcas. Minor’s interests include recognizing the often-hidden presence of the wisdom tradition in contemporary culture and long-distance walking which he shares with his wife, Leonie.
Leonie has led meditations in other theosophical centers and has an interest in healing. She is a Therapeutic Touch® practitioner and teacher and has worked with mantra and sound healing for many years. Leonie is currently a member of the Indralaya board.

Silent MeditationSeptember 24 - 27, 2026
(Thursday dinner – Sunday Breakfast) Coming Home to Self: A Silent Meditation Retreat Set aside your worries and distractions and nourish yourself with the gift of a few days of meditation and silence in community. Sharing silence in the company of others can expand the quality of one’s attention. It can open us to the awareness of deeper levels of stillness and spaciousness within ourselves and allow a more appreciative and mindful engagement with the situations in our daily lives. Silence will begin Thursday after the evening orientation and conclude prior to breakfast on Sunday. The schedule will include silent and guided meditations, walking meditation, and experiential exercises focusing on self-care, mindfulness, and connection with nature. There will also be plenty of open time to simply be at Indralaya, with its beautiful natural setting of beach, meadow and forest trails. This program is open to all – experienced meditators as well as those who are new to meditation and curious about silent meditation.
