Silent Meditation
With Leonie Van Gelder and Minor Lile
September 24 - 27, 2026
(Thursday dinner – Sunday Breakfast)
Coming Home to Self: A Silent Meditation Retreat
Set aside your worries and distractions and nourish yourself with the gift of a few days of meditation and silence in community. Sharing silence in the company of others can expand the quality of one’s attention. It can open us to the awareness of deeper levels of stillness and spaciousness within ourselves and allow a more appreciative and mindful engagement with the situations in our daily lives.
Silence will begin Thursday after the evening orientation and conclude prior to breakfast on Sunday. The schedule will include silent and guided meditations, walking meditation, and experiential exercises focusing on self-care, mindfulness, and connection with nature. There will also be plenty of open time to simply be at Indralaya, with its beautiful natural setting of beach, meadow and forest trails.
This program is open to all – experienced meditators as well as those who are new to meditation and curious about silent meditation.

To fly to Orcas: There are regularly scheduled flights on Kenmore Air from Seattle Boeing Field to Eastsound, or from Seattle Lake Union or Kenmore/Lake Washington to Deer Harbor Marina. Transportation to Indralaya can be provided for flights that land in Eastsound.

Registration fees are all-inclusive for accommodation and meals. Accommodation is in rustic cabins (plumbed or not), the “Round House” a 7-bedroom, 2.5 bath shared house, or in your own tent or RV. Registration fees may be reduced if you sign up to be on “daily staff.” Daily staff work 3 hours per day on cleanup, maintenance tasks, garden help, kitchen help and the like. Daily staff hours are in addition to community participation in after meal cleanup chores.
